Racing and Results
General Program
The Club Sailing Program for the next
year commences late April with club events starting promptly at 10:30 AM last race starts before 3:30
pm
Sailing will be conducted at Woorabinda Lake, Mabel St
Stirling
Sailing every Wednesday with
handicap racing on the last Wed of the month and general racing on the other
days.
The club also runs a match racing event in early December.
Social sailing is
available to members every Sunday morning
8.00 to 12.00am
All
state events can be seen on the SARYA web site
Visitors are most welcome to come along and join in the
fun.

Wow!! how close was this day?
Congratulations to Adrian for his first win. And another great day with
heaps of wind allowing 14 races. The handicap system again allowed all to
be competitive with 9 skippers winning at least one race. While not
recorded, the one metre that Phillip L trialled today showed excellent speed and
easily matched it with the Marbleheads in the lighter winds. Looks a
winner Phillip! We now have three members with one metre yachts -
maybe we need to think about including these in some of the special days we have
held in the past where other types of yachts are allowed.

Any day we can sail 13 races
means there was wind! Some really close racing was evident today often
with 5 yachts rounding the last mark with race to the line. Promising
signs were also seen from our newest sailors Adrian and Ian who both had some
good results during the day.

Again winds were consistent today
and some close racing was evident often 4 or 5 yachts going around the leeward
buoy together to start the last beat. David was again very competitive and
was unlucky not to make it 2 in a row until Ben took him out in race12 with a
flat battery and maybe robbing him of the two places he needed.

First Race of 2012 - numbers down
a little because 4 members in Hobart in Nationals. Phillip Levi was the
best of the SA contingent. Phillip sailed well in the trying conditions
with gusts to 40 knots at least!! David was the consistent sailor at
Woorabinda. Winds were kind allowing 12 races to be sailed.
